Missouri Heights Residence

This straw bale home produces enough electricity to meet its annual needs and is heated by passive solar energy. Daylight is used extensively and decisions based on sustainable design principles were used to guide the entire project. Low energy ambient, task and accent lighting systems were designed to help create a dynamic and flexible environment for the Home Owner. A lighting control system was used to improve comfort, save energy and reduce maintenance. Custom lighting details were developed to highlight special architectural features. Exterior lighting is kept to a minimum in order to address light pollution and light trespass.
